Saturday February 23rd - One Man Hide and Seek results and thoughts - In need of review

Attempted One Man Hide and Seek earlier this week. There was an error recording that caused half of the video to be lost but after reviewing the video it really isn't up to standards and is near pointless because of the lack of visibility throughout the experiment.

If youre interested in similar experiments check here -  http://www.youtube.com/user/xroommod?feature=mhee

You can also find this url in the wall of text over to the right and about halfway down the page.

I streamed the experiment as well with somewhere between 5 and 10 people watching the 3 cams I had set up.

One was aimed at a television set to static, another at the bathtub where the doll floated, and a third aimed at where I'd sit in the designated hiding place as per the instructions. The cam in the bathroom was unnecessary as there simply wasn't enough light to see the doll. It could have backstroked and nobody would have known. I kept the doll and took a photo of its current state about an hour ago. You can see it in the following image for comparison - before and after.

Before

After
Given that half of the recording was lost though I will be repeating this experiment sometime in the future for those who were not able to attend the live stream.

Anyone interested can read the instructions at several sites such as the following

None of them mention flashlights being a rule breaker or necessary. No mention of candles or active infrared illumination. Given the lack of mention I can only assume its against the rules. This presents a problem of course since in a pitch black bathroom its difficult to document anything about the state of the doll and the same goes for a house with no lights on other than 1 television.

The idea of One Man Hide and Seek seems to come from a Japanese horror movie named Hitori Kakurenbo. You can get plenty of info about the movie and its sequels here on IMDB http://www.imdb.com/find?q=Hitori+kakurenbo&s=all

According to IMDB it was released in 2008 in Japan and later in the USA under the title Hide and Go Kill. How the idea of One Man Hide and Seek existed before the film is rumored to be a Japanese legend like Bloody Mary. I couldn't find a source for its origin or age beyond the film. I could take a while and try to contact the producer, director, or anyone involved in the movie for some sort of interview but I think its much more reliable to simply experiment. Talk is cheap.

That being said I know its important to consider testimony when designing an experiment so here are a few links to browse over that feature other peoples experiences in their own words.

Now I can not attest to the authenticity of these experiences but hopefully they give some idea of what is expected to happen from someones point of view since the the first version I ever read came from a blog called saya in underworld I believe and looked like this

Now I am certain some of you are disappointed to read all of this and find no link to a video of the actual experiment from me but sadly as I said before I lost half of the recording due to camera problems. No excuse, likely my fault. So I need to repeat this one but doing it with a camera in my hands has taught me something that streaming it several times over the last few years didn't - The camera doesn't see as well as I do in very dark rooms. In fact it sees almost nothing. You cant see the doll being stabbed, you cant see anything but the television in fact.

With all that information in front of you now hopefully you'll be more suited to give me your opinion on how I should approach this issue. I want to record this experiment but I also want you to be able to review it when I upload the recording.

Three options come to mind and I have considered each of them.

1. Simply use a handheld light, flashlight, or candle.

2. Purchase some infrared equipment and use that.

3. Do the recording following the rules exactly and adding no extra lights at all in any spectrum to strictly adhere to the rules.

4. (Insert your valid opinion here because that is what documenting and publicizing this is all about)

So please send me suggestions for how I should handle this issue and don't forget to send suggestions for any other paranormal experiments you're curious about because I'm curious about ALL of them and we can work together to research and investigate them.
