Anderson House update and Friday the 13th + Thoughts

First things first, as many of you know I have recently been in communication with the DNR to get permission to investigate the Anderson house at the Battle of Lexington state historic site in Lexington, Missouri.

Sad news, they basically said no. More specifically they told me that because they do not allow anyone inside the building unless staff are present, and they dont have staff there at night, I cant be there.

I was also given an a person to contact to appeal the decision. Which I am doing but it will likely take just as long to hear back as it took last time. Hopefully this goes better, I made sure to express my enthusiasm and desperation.

Moving on to the last experiment which you can watch below

I'll admit some of what you see here is unorthodox but sometimes an unusual approach results in learning something new. Unfortunately not this time as I didnt notice anything unusual or out of the ordinary during my time in the woods that night.

I think there is another Friday the 13th coming around in December this year so I'll try to plan ahead for that as well and if you have any specific suggestions for that particular date be sure to get them to me before the day-of, please.

On a good note I came across some cheap surplus mirrors recently and theyre rather large so we're all set for future experiments in that regard. They arent quite big enough to build a mirror box or "psychomanteum" I dont think...maybe...if I were to really squeeze inside but I dont think I'd be able to relax or get comfortable. I'll keep my eyes open for larger ones.

Also I do have a few other haunted locations on my list and now that I dont have to keep a specific date open for the Anderson house I'm going to be making a few calls this weekend and Monday morning to see about a couple other locations that arent too far away. I'd say to wish me luck but with all the mirror breaking lately whats the point?

That reminds me - someone recently asked me to make a zombie apocalypse video of some sort. Let me know your thoughts on that because I'm not going to lie, I'm interested. There are actually a few zombie movies that entertain paranormal theories for the zombies themselves, not just assorted biological issues like the popular pandemic or global virus.

In fact, the classic brain eaters and the idea of a zombie rising from a cemetery or graveyard were paranormal zombies. Long dead tissue, long dead people, not a disease. Even the popular "The Walking Dead" are paranormal zombies in fact. Some what of a mix but definitely paranormal. Anyway enough talk, I've gotta get to reading and forum lurking and reply to a lot of emails/youtube comments instead of turning this into a the great wall of text.

Update, recap, creepypasta thoughts + the scientific method

Quick update on the situation with the Anderson house at the historic Battle of Lexington site.

No approval yet.

I do still have a glimmer of hope though as I did contact the DNR again just to confirm that they received my proposal and I was informed they did receive it and its currently being reviewed.

I can only assume the proposal has to go through quite a few hands before its fully approved and thats what is causing the delay. I say that only because it was a rather short proposal, not because they arent busy over at the DNR in Jefferson City, MO.

Now as for a recap of recent experiments there have been two since my last blog post.

They were both mirror related and both suggested by peers.

Below is the first, the Pacemaker ritual.

Now for this one in particular the IR capability of the camcorder was borderline essential. If I had tried this without IR night vision you would have only been able to see a very dimly lit environment.
In this case you were able to clearly see that nothing appeared in the mirror itself and the mirror didnt appear to crack at any time during the experiment.

Next was a suggestion named Mirror World but whats in a name? You can watch it below.

The only difficult part of this experiment was going through all the mirrors. You can sometimes find old mirrors for cheap but in general theyre not free and the larger the more expensive. Regardless it went well enough aside from a cut on my thumb during clean up.

I didnt notice anything in particular from the reflections of the shards after breaking any of the mirrors. I tried this one a few times in fact just to be thorough.

I want to quickly address a few tips I've had about not trying anything from this site

http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Creepypasta_Wiki

I assume the reasons being that its a fiction focused website in general.

The catch of course is that many other sites that focus on producing similar stories and testimony like

http://www.reddit.com/r/nosleep/

Which has been suggested to me several times as well.

On /nosleep/ you can read the following

"Remember, treat everything like a true recount of events while you're here. Everything is true here, even if it's not."

While the creepypasta wiki doesnt have that some note as far as I know they both produce similar tales often enough and they both allow for submissions from outside sources to the degree that almost anyone from anywhere can submit. So while there is no guide line or restriction keeping out people having fun making up stories they think are 2spooky it also means that anyone who might just want to share a genuine testimony from a terrified friend could end up posting there.

Basically, the question I have to ask is - Is it possible that something well worth experimenting into could be posted on any site that allows for or even typically focuses on 'creepypasta'. The answer is yes...since the only requirements for a story becoming creepypasta is that it quality as creepy and get popular enough that people retell it often.

...and then a skeleton popped out! and he was on a skeleton horse too!!! Directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

That description, 'creepy and popular' could literally fit excerpts from grimoires and other occult texts from well known authors. So I cant discredit anything known as creepypasta simply on the grounds that its known as creepypasta or posted on a site known for creepypasta.

I know this results in me trying lots of experiments that some people consider a waste of time but believe it or not they get suggested quite often, no doubt because of the fact that to become creepypasta in the first place they have to be somewhat popular.

Moving on I want to talk about the scientific method. I want you to stop reading here if youre not into walls of text because thats what follows. Go ahead and play some DOTA2 or CS:GO maybe, watch a movie, do some strength training, go for a run, whatever youre into but DO NOT keep reading unless youre into walls of text.

Now just to be clear on how I define science please read below.

"Science (from Latin scientia, meaning "knowledge"[1]) is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe.[2][3] In an older and closely related meaning, "science" also refers to a body of knowledge itself, of the type that can be rationally explained and reliably applied. A practitioner of science is known as a scientist."

Thats taken directly from wikipedia, obviously.

I want to stress this definition for science in general because there are people who quite literally still claim to "believe in science" and "not the paranormal".

Now just quickly I also want to define paranormal.

"Paranormal is a general term (coined c. 1915–1920[1][2]) that designates experiences that lie outside "the range of normal experience or scientific explanation"[3] or that indicates phenomena understood to be outside of science's current ability to explain or measure."

So what we have here is a clear distinction that yes the paranormal is outside the range of current scientific explanation. Now, at one time so were many other amazing things we have come to understand about our natural world and the universe. As we continue to learn we can understand things that might at one time only be described as "spooky action at a distaince".

But the important part to note is that science is a system to build and organize knowledge as well as a body of knowledge.

That doesnt mean science cant be applied to some random race of blue aliens light years away from us in the universe. It simply means we havent been able to try any experiments on these creatures, we have never observed them or recorded any information about them.

They arent beyond science they simply havent been thoroughly studied yet.

Much like discovering a new species of animal the animal was there all along. Its mating habits were there all along. Its typical diet consisted of the same things all along. We simply observed and recorded that information. There are things to invent and discover still but as we refine theories based on new observations the universe has remained the same, its only our understanding of it that has changed.

Unless you make the argument that for some reason certain things can never be understood then what we consider paranormal today is tomorrows science textbook. In fact, all scientific knowledge of all things already exists. We simply dont have all of it observed and recorded yet.

Whether its a textbook discussing studies on ideomotor effect or demons communicating through automatic writing doesnt matter, what matters is learning as much as possible.

Now heres another piece from the wikipedia entry for scientific method.

"The overall process involves making conjectures (hypotheses), deriving predictions from them as logical consequences, and then carrying out experiments based on those predictions to determine whether the original conjecture was correct.[16] There are difficulties in a formulaic statement of method, however. Though the scientific method is often presented as a fixed sequence of steps, they are better considered as general principles.[17] Not all steps take place in every scientific inquiry (or to the same degree), and not always in the same order. As noted by William Whewell (1794–1866), "invention, sagacity, [and] genius"[18] are required at every step:"

Now to relate this to the experiments on the channel we have the question and hypothesis.

In our case its almost always similar. We hypothesize that the experiment will result in paranormal phenomena in some way. It differs at times from moving an object to communicating through a dream or causing bodily harm but its always the result of a phenomena that is in some way paranormal by the definition that the result will somehow contradict the current standards of knowledge we use in physics or biology by causing something to happen in a way that disagrees with those models of knowledge.

Thats a very broad hypotheses but its applied to a very broad range of experiments 1 at a time.

More specifically you could call that the question as in "What would happen if I...." and that might be repeat an incantation in front of a mirror before shattering it or try offering my own blood to an entity I've never seen before while willing that entity to interact with me, etc.

The hypothesis itself might be...the planchette will move, the mirror will break without me touching it, an image will appear, I'll hear a voice in my head describing a future event, etc.

You get the idea. From here testing and analysing the experiment is a matter of actually trying it and then me reviewing the video recording later.

As for the part I believe to me the most important in regards to paranormal research - peer review, that of course comes last when you get the chance to view the recorded experiments on the channel.

I dont think what I do disagrees with the scientific method but I did get a comment about it so I wanted to address that.

"The goal of a scientific inquiry is to obtain knowledge in the form of testable explanations that can predict the results of future experiments."

I believe thats what I'm doing and I'm certain that most of my experiments recorded have included the instructions well enough that anyone could peer review my efforts.  I really could go on and on but I have to stop myself there and get other things done.

Regardless if you have any suggestions as always please let me know!

The Blog is Back! Nightvision, Ouija, possible haunted location soon!

Alright after a skipped blog post last week I want to take a moment to mention that the nightvision is GO and the camcorder already arrived, you can see some video of it in action over on the channel or in the videos below.

Now obviously the second video has 4 candles for lighting but switching on the IR in low light is a huge improvement most of the time. This will help see more clearly in all low light experiments and in the more well lit experiments the camcorder will improve the quality through its obviously better video capabilities, not just resolution either. It has a lot of features that put it far and above the Canon still shot camera I had been using until now.

By the way I dont think I mentioned on the blog yet but if youre interested in getting one of these camcorders (I highly recommend them) you can do so from the following site.

http://www.clevelandparanormal.com/

Also the guy in charge there, named Cliff, is awesome enough that he gave me a  FREE SHIPPING coupon code to share with all the peers of these experiments.

Simply use 'XROOMMOD' as your coupon code on any order and you'll receive free shipping! Cool, right?

Now as for the results of the ouija / spirit / talking board video above. None of us noticed anything strange or any movement of the shot glass. These were moderately specific instructions from a peer who in fact donated to the fundraiser - thanks again Adam!

We will be trying it a few more times though, on and off camera. Please feel free to send in any and all suggestions or ideas for questions myself or either of my friends might ask.

Things youre curious to hear asked. It can be anything you think might result in a response.

Just stay away from anything with the answer '42'.

As for the teaser in the title about the haunted location, let me fill everyone in on something I've been working towards.

I recently contacted a nice lady working at a location in Missouri rumored to be haunted and she told me she couldnt allow me to do an 'after hours' investigation of this location because the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in Missouri was working on a new policy regarding after hours use of parks in this state.

The historic site -Battle of Lexington / Battle of Hemp Bales -where the building - The Anderson House - is located is apparently handled as a state park. So the policy theyre currently working on applies.

I called the DNR and I recieved a call back. I put together a proposal as instructed and now I'm waiting on a response. Wish me luck everyone, this could be a big step forward. Who knows where it could lead?

Nightvision Fundraiser Final Update + Recent Experiments & Thoughts

The fundraiser is over! For those who werent keeping an eye on it the contributors donated a total of...

         341 dollars!!!

No bullshit. You can take the following URL for proof.

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/peering-deeper-into-the-paranormal/x/3792012

Now I'm sure my excitement doesnt come through in text but believe me I'm thrilled and amazed.

Enough about me though. I want to once again take a moment to show appreciation to everyone who contributed their hard earned cash to help fund a nightvision camcorder to help us all dig deeper and hopefully learn more in the process of eventually finding something undeniably paranormal. The list is below.

Clinton

Jasmen

Sircav

Ethan

Olivia

Connor

Adam

Maple Bubble Tea

Tyson

Dardudeius

and Fox Hound

Fox Hound has a cool youtube channel you should check out by the way - especially if youre into gaming. Just take the following URL

http://www.youtube.com/user/TheFoxHoundGames

Also, speaking of gaming Dardudeius has a channel as well that features similarly awesome content.

http://www.youtube.com/user/Dardudeius

________________________________________________________________

Now you might notice I spelled Jasmen's name right this time if you compare it to her name over on the fundraiser page. Sorry about that Jasmen. Those are people who I am incredibly thankful to for how much they have helped.

Now I'm sure you noticed (if you actually checked the fundraiser) that $341 is not $2000. Its alright though because if you read the fundraiser you can read where I stated that even if we dont reach $2000 for the camcorder I linked on the fundraiser I'll use whatever cash we get (and my own with it) to put together the best nightvision solution I can come up with. That being said I'm ordering the camcorder ASAP even though indiegogo tells me that some of the donations could take up to 15 days to process. Ouch. No worries though, move things around a bit and its fine. I'm also not waiting to thank everyone on video. I'll do 2 thank you videos, youtube be damned. One this weekend and another as soon as the camcorder arrives. In other words one without and one with nightvision.

I really cant thank you enough. All of you. I'm going to try though. I know you donated to support more experiments and thats exactly what I'm going to deliver. Not just more but bigger, deeper, and...well as I typed that I realized how sexual it sounded but you get the idea. Your donation is going towards more of what you wanted, directly. Not spending it on candles or ritualistic daggers, promise. I gotta pick up more candles soon though, that reminds me.

Back on topic. Recent experiments have been fairly light due to the rush at the end of the fundraiser and my schedule as of late but with the nightvision there is a whole list ready to be addressed that were previously difficult to document due to lack of light in processes that prohibited candles or visible (to people) light sources.

I know more than a few people who have been waiting to see durama/bath game and speaking of people waiting I cant tell you how many people have sent me critiques for 2 of the more popular experiments.

One Man Hide and Seek

The Midnight Man/Game

Both of these have seen a hell of a lot of attention and while I've had lots of requests for adjustments on other experiments these have recieved the most by far if you dont count the assorted ouija / spirit / talking board ideas. Now I wont be repeating those 2 until October most likely but I wanted to mention here that anyone who has ANY suggestions for changes to how I attempted them previously should send them in again even if youve already told me your thoughts. I am putting together a consolidated list and I need to double check that I've got everyones ideas accounted for so that I dont miss anything.

I know some people will hate the idea of me repeating anything before I've gotten to their suggestions but dont worry, I dont plan to die any time soon, I'll get to every last one no matter how long it takes.

which puts us at 161 dollars!

I cant thank you all enough, really. This will be the last blog update before the end of the fundraiser and I want to say one more time, from the bottom of my heart and soul (if I didnt sell it) that I appreciate this very much.

With less than a week left there isnt much time to get the perks you want so be sure if youre reading this and still want to contribute that you get over to the fundraiser at the URL below and donate!

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/peering-deeper-into-the-paranormal/x/3792012

____________________________________________________________

Now lets get to the meat of the blog post.

There are 2 experiments I'd like to mention here for review. The first being an attempt at summoning the demon Lucifuge Rofocale.

Here is what wikipedia has to say about the fellow

"Lucifuge Rofocale (pronounced with a silent 'e'), according to the Grand Grimoire, is the demon in charge of Hell's government by order of Lucifer."

" The name Lucifuge comes from two Latin words; lux (light; genitive lucis), and fugio (to flee),which means "[he who] flees the light". The proper pronunciation of "Rofocal", one should note, is an anagram for Focalor, which is the name of another important demon who is possibly in his servitude."

"
In some modern left-hand path belief systems, the demon Lucifuge is said to be the ruler of the qliphoth Satariel. This belief originally comes from a claimed translation of an ancient Hebrew manuscript made by Eliphas Levi[1] and has since then gained acceptance.
Modern-day occult orders such as Dragon Rouge, the Order of Phosphorus and the Temple of the Black Light incorporate the idea of Lucifuge as one of the eleven rulers (there are ten qliphoths, and the last one, Thaumiel, is split in two, thus making eleven)."

Now thats all very interesting to you I'm sure but here is the actual experiment below.

I want to briefly mention that you shouldnt cut yourself. Now lets talk about the experiment. In regards to summoning demons I've had lots of advice and suggestions everything from comments saying I'm a moron and "asking for it" whatever 'it' is...I assume demonic violation...

Oh yes.
to messages and PM's linking me to PDF's of the Key of Solomon or detailed instructions. I try to do everything, really, but I simply have to wait and do the hardest or most lengthy processes last. I really wish I had the time to do everything and I will eventually, I promise, but please be patient!

Now next was more recently the experiment Nine Times Veronica which is very similar to Bloody Mary in practice. You can see my attempt and learn more below.

As you can see its not lengthy and just to be clear I didnt notice anything unusual during the experiment.

Last but not least to update on the werewolf and vampire spells I have yet to notice anything strange physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. Nothing strange so far at all, everything is perfectly normal aside from recent minor shoulder injury at work but thats unrelated.

I also wanted to mention a comment I received recently about a special flower called a 'lycanthropus flower' or 'lycanthrope flower'. Some believe that eating the flower or wearing the flower on the night of a specific lunar phase.

Now most seem to claim it grows only in the Balkan Peninsula but others seem to believe its common Monks Hood or Aconitum. I think its possible there is some unknown flower growing in the Balkans but I think the claims that this 'lycanthropus flower' is Monks Hood are a mistake.

I believe its a mistake caused by the fact that Monks Hood or Aconitum is often referred to as Wolf's Bane or wolfsbane. This is because the plant has been used for a very long time to poison wolves or wild dogs. In fact their poison is popular and the plant has been used with arrows for hunting and for warfare.

I'm personally a big fan of poisonous plants but more on that later. For now just be sure to let me know if you have any info on this 'lycanthropus flower'.

If not who knows? Maybe (some day) it will warrant a trip to the Balkan Peninsula to walk around in marshy areas looking for a plant with white, sticky sap and yellow or white flowers. Sounds like fun.

Symptoms and Indiegogo update + thoughts on morals

To start the number of contributors has increased!

Last week the list consisted of

Olivia Thurley

Connor Belding

Tyson Andrew

mapleXbubbleXtea

Fox Hound - Who has a youtube channel which you should check out at the following URL

 http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQuxyGTADYvh55wUXVAC_1g/featured

Jasmin Prill

and joining the list this week is

Sircav1

which puts us up to 161 dollars!

Once again, like a broken record, I want to thank everyone so much for contributing and helping to directly improve the channel. It means a lot to me that some of you are so interested in the paranormal and these experiments that you would actually spend your hard earned money to help support and improve the effort. I cant tell you how much I appreciate it.
_______________________________________________________

Now on to the paranormal!

Symptoms update - None. Short and sweet. Sorry, no symptoms whatsoever noticed thus far. Nothing strange physically or mentally.

Moving on from that I'd have another video to discuss here but work lately has forced me to push things around, sorry. The next experiment will be up sometime tomorrow.

Since we dont have that to talk about I wanted to address a couple comments from the channel in more length and detail.

First I was asked what I think is too far and although I've said this before I want to stress that close to nothing is off limits and the worst I can do is say no so please PLEASE suggest anything and everything no matter how dangerous it sounds. I mean it.

Second I wanted to further discuss a comment from Sircav who said they were interested in whether or not vampires still existed.

First lets establish that the majority of people seem to agree that vampires are purely fiction. The result of superstition and old world ignorance. It cant be settled realistically as to whether they ever existed at all since its basically impossible to disprove vampires and of course they have yet to be proven or there would be no question.

So all of this will be entirely theoretical and I'll try to avoid relating details to vampires directly and only the possibility of something that looks human existing and surviving even though it isnt human and was at one time considered somewhat....'kill on sight' or rather 'stake on sight'.

Lets suppose all of that is legitimate. Using the 17th or more 18th century idea of a vampire, something more akin to a person who looks off or strange but still distinctively passes for human.

Could this survive from the 17th centurey til now regardless of people then wanting to kill it?

Well in theory I think the answer is obviously yes.

So, theoretically, if that type of vampire did EVER exist it should STILL exist.

I say that because eradicating every single member of a race would be a ridiculously difficult task and near impossible given the supposed difficulty in identifying vampires.

If you also took into account some theories that a vampire can make more vampires rather easily then its even more difficult to argue the possibility of something like that being completely exterminated on a global scale.

Anyway thats all theory and fun to discuss.

On a more present note I received a recent another email from a person claiming to be a vampire. I promptly asked them if they'd like to take part in some experiments and discuss exactly how we would define 'vampire' since there are so many definitions and we certainly cant ascertain if they ARE one until we know what one IS.

I havent heard back yet but I'm hopeful.

I also received a comment about morals and where I "draw the line" on these experiments.

More or less asking what I will or wont do and I answered that I'll do most anything.

I've been asked this question a lot and I tend to answer with that response so as to not scare off anyone who think their idea or suggestion is too dangerous or corrupt for me to attempt. I want to hear it even if its the most diabolical, evil, and risky ritual youve ever heard about. Please, dont hold anything back.

That doesnt mean I'm going to consider sacrificing human children. That doesnt mean I'm going to chop my fingers off for a ritual. There are practices that involve both of those acts but you dont see me trying those and for obvious reasons aside from the moral implications.

I couldnt keep the channel running if I'm sitting in a prison cell twiddling my thumbs....because all my other fingers are gone. You get the idea.

I dont mind grabbing something sharp and opening myself up for blood magic rituals and spell.

I've done enough farm work in the country to know that an animal doesnt go to waste whether its recovered during a hunting trip or raised at home and that holds true even if its involved in a ritual sacrifice.

I'll be uploading that video later tonight but for now I've got to run, til next time peers.

Vampire spell, Werewolf symptoms, Alternate Soul, and Indiegogo Update

Third things first! The indiegogo campaign to raise cash for a nightvision camcorder is still up and running (until August 22nd) and I'm happy to give credit below to new contributors!

Last week the list consisted of

Olivia Thurley

Connor Belding

Tyson Andrew

mapleXbubbleXtea

This week joining the list are

Fox Hound - Who has a youtube channel which you should check out at the following URL

 http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQuxyGTADYvh55wUXVAC_1g/featured

Jasmin Prill Who awesomely donated a very generous amount and has claimed the black One Man Hide and Seek doll as part of her perks so I'll be updating the campaign to reflect that.

Again I want to thank all 6 of you so much for your contributions. Youre efforts will directly improve the channel and possibly get us a step closer to finding something undeniably paranromal. I cant simply put into writing how appreciative I am, thank you!

____________________________________________________________________________

Now onto that paranormal.

The most recent experiment is the video below.

To be clear I have yet to feel anything that I would describe as abnormal or unusual since attempting this one. It didnt come with a symptom list or a description of what to expect so I can only look for anything out of the ordinary.

I am aware this could overlap with the older werewolf experiment but I figure if the mix the worst that happens is I end up in some sort of Underworld 7 or 8 movie.

Jokes aside I'll be sure to update if I do experience any symptoms or side effects that seem to have resulted from either of these experiments.

Inbetween the werewolf and vampire spells I also tried the experiment below.

Just reaffirming that I didnt notice anything unusual during or after this experiment. I did have someone ask if thats a mustache though. Sorry it is not. They then suggested I actually grow one.

Which lead me to scream at them "THATS NOT PARANORMAL!!!!!"

I'm kidding of course. About the screaming.

Pictured : Not spooky.
Back on the topic at hand, the alternate soul experiment had a mention at the end of the instructions that if you succeed at this experiment, which I am not sure if I did since I didnt see anything unusual, but regardless it says if you DO succeed that your reflection will always be watching you. Through pretty much any reflective surface. I wanted to address that part because I have not noticed anything different about my reflection since the experiment.

Moving on to some future plans I've got a LOT planned at the moment but I was thinking of doing a livestream if the Indiegogo reaches $300. Let me know what experiments you'd want to see LIVE and I'll try to make a list of the top suggestions. I'll add this to an upcoming video as well because I know the blog here is an acquired taste that not all peers prefer.
