Barney, the full moon, respect, and black mirror scrying.

The last upload was a ritual meant to obtain a spirit animal.

You can read a little bit about the general idea of a spirit animal or familiar at the following link.

Now onto the snacks. I have left food for Barney twice, both times the food offered was corn chips. I've thought about Barney many times throughout each day so far and tried speaking out loud to him as if he was listening or nearby. Tonight I'll be asking Barney to watch over me while I sleep and I'll be instructing him politely to wake me up at a specific time. I'll let you all know how that turns out.

As for the dream log so far the only dream I've had that is somewhat related was actually a dream about a large bird of prey (not an owl) killing one of the chickens we raise. In the dream I killed the offending bird shortly afterwards. I dont believe its related due to the lack of an owl and the fact that large birds of prey often kill young chickens if theyre being raised free range and I had discussed that scenario before going to bed that night.

Next topic in line is the full moon. Lunar phases have a long occult history and I've been waiting for the full moon this month so let me know if you have any experiments that involve that particular (or really any) lunar phase. I'll likely be enchanting a black scrying mirror tomorrow night but the experiment might be something else. Enchanting the mirror requires the moons phase to be full but using the mirror doesnt so I could enchant it and do something else then use the mirror some other night for a particular scrying experiment.

In other news I wanted to discuss the origins of magic, demons, sigils, etc.

One might make a correlation between a grimoire and, for example, a religious text. But regardless they both have an origin. Whether its the word of a god handed down to man or if its one great mage who communed with demons. Both of them make it clear that the knowledge on their pages came from a supernatural source. Whether divine or demonic most religious / magical / occult texts state that their origin is distinctly outside of man.

At some moment, some point in time, mankind discovers or learns of their God, their dietys, their demons. They arent born knowing they exist. If it werent a matter of learning, if it was inborn, wouldnt every culture create the same gods and demons?

So assuming that every supernatural being has an origin at which it lets mankind know it exists, can it be respected before that moment?

For example - Lets assume all of the worlds religions and beliefs are wrong. Lets assume its something nobody has EVER heard of...like...a giant ethereal octopus made of radio antennas who demands worship in the form of tiny boats covered in high fructose corn syrup.

Now, if that were true, nobody could say they respected our octopus overlord because nobody knows he exists.

All this is meant to lead you into wondering - For the very first person to communicate with something supernatural, how did they do it?

Something to think about. Something...strange...to think about...but still.  When youre done thinking about it make sure to send me your thoughts. Here, the facebook, the youtube, whatever you prefer. I'll be listening and thanks again to everyone to suggestions and support.
